The 2012 retrospective study whose title matches the question found that radiological findings agreed with pathological length of aganglionosis in only 58 % of cases (κ = 0.39), leading the authors to conclude that “Correlation between level of radiographic transition zone … and length of aganglionosis remains low” and recommending routine pre-operative biopsy rather than reliance on the contrast enema alone [Muller et al., 2012, PMID 22534881].
