Activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) measures the efficiency of the intrinsic and common coagulation pathways, so it is the preferred laboratory test for assessing intrinsic‐pathway integrity; bleeding time evaluates platelets, PT evaluates the extrinsic pathway, and whole‐blood clotting time is less specific [Loizou et al., 2018, PMID 30315725].
