Langerhans cell histiocytosis (Histiocytosis X) commonly presents in children with numerous lytic-destructive (“permeative”) lesions that can involve virtually every bone in the skeleton, giving the picture of “lesions in all bones.” In contrast, skeletal metastases from Wilms tumor or osteosarcoma are uncommon, and although neuroblastoma can seed bone, it does not typically affect the entire skeleton in a permeative pattern.
