Histopathology showing eosinophils and histiocytes is characteristic of Langerhans cell histiocytosis; the localized osseous form in jaws (eosinophilic granuloma) often presents with irregular bone loss and loosening of teeth in one quadrant, which is categorized clinically under Hand-Schüller-Christian disease in the LCH spectrum [Holzhauer 1999, PMID 10397673].
