Small, pedunculated oral squamous papillomas are benign; definitive therapy is simple surgical removal, which also provides tissue for histologic confirmation. Current literature states that complete excision (i.e., excisional biopsy) with narrow margins is the treatment of choice for papillomatous lesions of the soft palate [Shetty et al., 2023, PMID 39742055; Darwish, 2023, PMID 37182075].
