Immature permanent incisors (open apex) have the greatest chance of healing if they are simply monitored; IADT guidelines state that in children under ≈12 yrs with intruded teeth up to about 7 mm, the recommended approach is to await spontaneous re-eruption, reserving active repositioning only if no movement occurs after a few weeks [Diangelis et al., 2012, PMID 22230724]. Clinical series confirm that intruded immature maxillary centrals in 8–10-year-olds routinely re-erupt without surgical/orthodontic intervention and maintain vitality [Saroğlu et al., 2006, PMID 16997096].
